Last week we were in Melbourne for GCUC Australia 2017. GCUC- As you know by now, is the Global Coworking Unconference Conference held around the world.
Earlier this year, we had been an exhibitor at GCUC USA, in New York. And it was great! We had met some inspiring coworking spaces and 3rd party software providers. So, when GCUC Australia was announced, we knew we had to be there! From the lovely team of SALTO Australia, Dennis was at our booth to introduce SALTO KS, as well as CLP to all the visitors at the conference.
GCUC comes to Australia once every other year. In 2015, it was held in Sydney, and now this year at Melbourne. The unconference was attended by coworking space owners, investors, operators and many others looking into entering the industry. Different from the USA conference, the unconference sessions in Melbourne were gathered in one day. Honestly, we would have liked it to be two days, but nevertheless it was very interesting as always. We had the chance to have a firsthand look into issues coworking spaces are experiencing, such as staff turnover and marketing avenues.
“Whether you are a software or service provider for coworking spaces, a coworking space with a single location or a larger coworking brand with multiple locations; Clay lets you integrate smart lock technology with access control features for a seamless customer experience.”
Some were surprised to see our booth branded as SALTO Keys as a Service. Since, Clay’s acquisition by SALTO Systems, we now have the chance to present various products that might appeal to different audiences. Whether you are a software or service provider for coworking spaces, a coworking space with a single location or a larger coworking brand with multiple locations; Clay lets you integrate smart lock technology with access control features for a seamless customer experience. We offer 3 different solutions tailored for any coworking business: SALTO Keys as a Service, KS Connect Clay Locking Platform. Incorporating smart lock technology with access control features removes the pain and the costs involved in running a co-working space. But also, it enables technology and service providers in the coworking ecosystem to enhance their offerings for their customers.
The agenda of the conference was well planned. It was nice seeing familiar face like Nexudus- who continues to improve their comprehensive platform with SALTO KS; and Hub Australia- whose site is equipped with SALTO locks throughout. The conversations at our booth allowed us to get into detail of how our 3 offerings differ from each other. Depending on the size and needs of a coworking space, the customer experience can be improved in many ways, to give a few examples:
As a coworking space owner, you need a quick start, out of the box solution for cloud based access control, and looking for a ready-built software SALTO KS would be the ideal product.
If you’re looking for the same again, but also options to integrate with your existing software tools (such as booking / reservation tools, community engagement tools, space management tools and more), then KS Connect is the way to go.
But sometimes you might need more! For coworking spaces that want access control to be custom integrated into existing tools and databases, with your own user interface; either a custom-built access control app or integration into your existing app, then Clay Locking Platform is the right answer.
In all cases you’ll be able to manage access for your coworking space on the go. Open doors remotely, block access, view entry activity and receive activity messages on your smartphone. Control who goes where and when. Grant designated access to visitors, employees, or even delivery services whenever it is necessary for them to enter!
Overall, GCUC Australia has been a valuable event for us to get together with many coworking space owners in Australia, but also software and service providers in the shared spaces industry. Thank you to all of you who made it to the event and visited us!
